Nazara Technologies’ Nodwin Gaming Acquires Additional Stake in Freaks 4U Gaming for ₹213 Crore


Nazara Technologies Ltd. has announced that its subsidiary, Nodwin Gaming International Pte. Ltd., has acquired an additional stake in Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH for ₹213 crore. This acquisition marks a substantial increase in Nodwin Gaming’s ownership in Freaks 4U, bringing its total stake to 57%, thereby making Freaks 4U a subsidiary of Nodwin Gaming.

“The acquisition of this stake is a strategic step towards consolidating our presence in the global esports market,” stated Manish Agarwal, CEO of Nazara Technologies. “Freaks 4U Gaming has been a valuable partner, and this move strengthens our commitment to enhancing our capabilities in delivering world-class esports experiences.”

Nodwin Gaming, backed by Nazara Technologies, had previously outlined plans to acquire a 100% stake in Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH through multiple transactions. “We are excited about the synergies this acquisition brings and look forward to integrating Freaks 4U Gaming’s expertise even more closely into our operations,” Agarwal added.

Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH, known for its contributions to high-profile gaming events such as the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile Global Open and the Esports World Cup, will continue to operate under its existing leadership. “We believe this partnership will enable us to scale our operations and innovate further in the esports arena,” commented Michael Haenisch, Co-Founder of Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH.

Following the acquisition, existing investors of Freaks 4U Gaming GmbH will transition to become shareholders of Nodwin Gaming International Pte. Ltd. The deal underscores Nazara Technologies’ commitment to expanding its footprint in the burgeoning esports market globally.

Shares of Nazara Technologies closed 0.55% higher at ₹909 apiece on Thursday, outperforming the marginal decline of 0.03% in the NSE Nifty 50.
