MSU Collaborates with IIVA to Enhance Educators’ Skills in Vedic Maths and Abacus

Medhavi Skills University (MSU), a leader in promoting skill-based higher education, has entered into a significant partnership with the Indian Institute of Vedic Maths and Abacus (IIVA), an NSDC-approved training partner. The collaboration, which is in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to upskill and reskill educators in the fields of Vedic Mathematics and Abacus, enhancing their ability to teach these ancient and modern mathematical techniques.
As part of this partnership, MSU and IIVA will develop exclusive Training of Trainers (TOT) courses. These courses will focus on equipping educators with the necessary skills to effectively teach Vedic Mathematics and Abacus. Two professional courses, namely the Certificate in Vedic Maths and Certificate in Abacus, are being introduced under this collaboration. Both courses will have a duration of up to six months and are recognized and approved by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET). The courses are aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and the National Higher Education Qualifications Framework (NHEQF).
Candidates Certified from these programs will receive digital certificates and transcripts, which will be verifiable through platforms such as the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), and Digi Locker.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Pravesh Dudani, Founder and Chancellor of MSU, said, “India has a rich heritage in mathematics, with significant contributions to the field through Vedic mathematics and numerous other discoveries like Zero. Once again, the country is embracing its roots in Vedic Mathematics, which is supposed to play a significant role in enhancing the country’s soft power on the global stage. Through the partnership with IIVA, MSU aims to empower educators in the field by curating professional degrees for them.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Mr. Rajesh Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of IIVA, stated, “This collaboration is a significant step towards nurturing the next generation of educators in India. Through this MoU, we are not only preserving ancient wisdom but also applying it to modern educational needs. Together, we aim to create a strong foundation for numeracy skills, helping individuals improve their mathematical proficiency in ways that are both innovative and time-tested.”
Kaifee Anwer, Vice President at MSU, emphasized the potential for self-employment, particularly for women, that this initiative could create. He noted, “The Vedic Mathematics and Abacus has created a huge self-employment opportunity for the WOMEN’S in India. The mathematical and analytical skills are the mandatory skills for the largest youth population of India. The startups in this sector are looking forward to taking Indian heritage globally through this remarkable collaboration.”
Adding to the discussion, Mr. Punit Ahuja, Director and COO at IIVA, highlighted the vast need for qualified trainers in this field. “To impart training to more than 20 Crores of Indian students, there will be a requirement of more than 1 Lakh Vedic Mathematics and Abacus trainers across India. IIVA has trained more than Ten Thousand trainers who have imparted training to more than 2 Lakhs students,” he explained.
