Garuda Aerospace, a drone startup, said on Monday that cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has joined the company as a brand ambassador. He will also be a stakeholder in the company. In April, the firm said that it was developing a strategy for selling drones to village entrepreneurs or pesticide and fertiliser sellers. Garuda Aerospace, located in Chennai, recently announced ambitions to boost agriculture.
Garuda Aerospace is a drone-as-a-service (DaaS) firm founded by Agnishwar Jayaprakash in 2015. It creates, produces, and customises drones for a variety of uses, including delivery, disaster relief, and agricultural applications. Swiggy, an online food delivery service, chose the company as one of four drone companies for a test project involving supply runs for its grocery business Instamart.

Garuda Aerospace operates in 26 cities with 300 drones and 500 pilots. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Garuda Aerospace’s drone production facilities in Gurugram and Chennai in February.
Agnishwar Jayaprakash, the founder and CEO of the company said that MSD is the definition of devotion, and he is confident that having Captain Cool on their Cap table will push the team to do even better. Garuda Aerospace has been a pioneer in India’s drone ecosystem and is well on its way to become the country’s first ever Drone Unicorn Start-up.
Elon Musk acknowledged the company’s operational competence on Twitter last year. The firm has also entered the defence industry, receiving a large order from the Ministry of Defence for 33 anti-drone devices.
