MS Dhoni introduces DRONI, a consumer camera drone made in India by Garuda Aerospace

Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who made the “helicopter shot” iconic, has unveiled the quadcopter “Droni” consumer camera drone. The advanced camera drone made in India is produced by Garuda Aerospace, whose brand ambassador is MS Dhoni.

With drone solutions for agricultural pesticide spraying, solar panel cleaning, industrial pipeline inspections, mapping, surveying, public announcements, and delivery services, Garuda Aerospace has carved out a niche for itself. With its newest offering, the “Droni,” the company is now foraying into the consumer drone market. By the end of 2022, the device will be on the market, claims Agnishwar Jayaprakash, the company’s founder and CEO.

In addition, a new “Kisan Drone” that is intended for the agricultural industry, specifically in spraying applications, was introduced at the event in Chennai. This drone’s battery power allows it to spray 30 acres of land every day with agricultural pesticides.

Speaking at the occasion, Dhoni remembered how, during the COVID-19 lockdown, he developed a genuine interest in agriculture. He underlined the function of drones for farmers. Garuda Aerospace’s founder and CEO, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, said during the launch that his company was committed to developing high-impact solutions for many uses. Our indigenous Droni drone can be used for a variety of surveillance tasks. In terms of technology and construction, it is effective, smooth, and of excellent quality. By offering Made-in-India drones, we intend to establish India as a hub for high-quality, risk-free, and secure drone and drone-based solutions in addition to becoming aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) for drone demand.

Anand Kumar Das, the current president of the Indian Drone Association and a former wing commander in the Indian Airforce, said: “I’m overjoyed to work on a platform where business leaders can network and share knowledge about the drone industry, and I’m proud to partner with Garuda Aerospace to host the Global Drone Expo. The drone sector will benefit greatly from the promotion and growth that this platform will provide.”

The Global Drone Expo attracted investors, youth, and stakeholders and established a future for the drone industry with its 1500+ participation from 14 international drone firms and representatives from over 28 states and union territories. A platform was provided for industry experts, farmers, dealers, distributors, people from the banking and insurance industries, representatives of educational and financial institutions, government officials, pilots, and different investors to gain insights into drone culture and the many opportunities related to drone use.
