Microsoft joins together with MeitY body to train workers in cybersecurity

Through the Cyber Shikshaa and Ready4Cybersecurity programmes, Microsoft and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), a scientific society of MeitY, aim to enhance access to skills for jobs.
According to a statement, the partnership will implement the programmes in 30 NIELIT training centres in Tier II and III towns, with a focus on Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and states in India’s Northeast region, with the goal of primarily serving underserved youth, women, and job seekers from remote areas.

In succeeding years, these programmes would be expanded to incorporate cybersecurity training into all NIELIT training facilities.
One of the pressing concerns facing the modern digital economy is the lack of diversity in the workforce and the worldwide cybersecurity skills gap. According to studies, 3.4 million employees are required to close the cybersecurity employment deficit worldwide.
According to the statement, the partnership between NIELIT and Microsoft will assist close the talent gap for cybersecurity specialists and provide up job possibilities for 1,100 underprivileged kids in the first year of deployment.
