Funding Alert

Kidbea raises Rs 1.5 Cr in pre-seed funding from Agility Ventures

Agility Ventures led a seed round of funding for Kidbea, a direct-to-consumer kidswear company, that brought in additional funding from Nandi Mehta, Tapas Sahu, Divij Bajaj, Abhishek Kochhar, and Vivekananda Nareddula, for a total of Rs 1.5 crore.

Kidbea said in a statement that the funds will be used to increase staff, boost marketing, and enhance R&D within the Indian childrenswear industry.

Kidbea was co-founded in 2021 by Swapnil Srivastav Mohammed Hussain and Aman Kumar Mahto, and produces hygienic and comfortable clothing for children that are both spill-proof and scented using proprietary technology. The target demographic consists of infants and young children, and the site’s mission is to provide them with safe, sustainable items. The business markets its wares via both its own website and third-party marketplaces including Amazon, Myntra, FirstCry, Meesho, and Hopscotch.

Including an unknown amount in March of this year, Kidbea has raised a total of Rs 2 crore over four rounds. SuperBottoms, which received Rs 22.5 crore in a Series A round, and Chennai Angels-backed Bumberry and Allter are just a few of the niche and horizontal players with whom the firm must contend.

Around thirty-five businesses are supported by the angel investment firm Agility Ventures. A Rs 450 crore angel fund, approved by SEBI in January, would be used over the next three to four years. Glamyo Health, a healthcare business, and Shiprocket, a company that became a unicorn in August, are two of its most recent investments.

Aman Kumar Mahto, the co-founder of Kidbea, further said that Kidbea would launch designer Indian ethnic kidswear in the next two years. “We will also onboard top Indian fashion designers to make Kidbea among India’s top three kidswear brands,” he claimed.
