India now hosts the developer platform GitHub for Startups

GitHub, an open-source software development platform, announced on Tuesday that it has opened up its developer platform to Indian developers in order to support the country’s startup environment.

Up to 20 free seats of GitHub Enterprise, along with help and direction from GitHub technical experts, will be provided to qualified entrepreneurs in India and throughout the world for one year.

According to Thomas Dohmke, CEO of GitHub, “As the hub for the world’s developers, it is our obligation to give entrepreneurs access to our comprehensive developer platform, so anyone can quickly and safely turn their ideas into the next big startup of tomorrow.”

GitHub, which is owned by Microsoft, has more than 7.2 million developers in India and more than 83 million worldwide.

 GitHub for Startups

GitHub for Startups, which was introduced earlier this year, has been assisting hundreds of startups—including a few in India—in the pilot group with collaboration and productivity, security, and harnessing the speed of creation.

To make its developer platform available to companies in their ecosystems, GitHub has worked with some of the top venture capital, accelerator, and startup support organisations on the planet.

“The best sidekick a technical manager could ask for is GitHub for Startups. We automated processes like linting, testing, and publishing thanks to its robust CI/CD capabilities, which let us save countless hours “Madhav Krishna, the CEO and founder of the firm Vahan, noted.

By the end of 2023, all users will be required to use one or more types of two-factor authentication (2FA), according to a new announcement by the open-source software repository Github.
