How a 19-Year-Old Indian Entrepreneur Raised $2.3 Million from Sam Altman and Others for Induced AI
- ByStartupStory | November 1, 2023
Two Indian teenagers have successfully convinced Sam Altman, the creator of ChatGPT and CEO of OpenAI, to invest millions in their business venture, Induced AI. Aryan Sharma, one of the co-founders, shared the remarkable journey of how they reached out to investors like Altman, shedding light on his early fascination with coding and AI.
During a podcast on Overpowered, Aryan Sharma revealed his journey into the tech world, which began with cold outreach. He started sending emails to prominent figures in the tech industry at the tender age of 14, seeking guidance. Some recipients even requested him to stop sending emails. Aryan and his co-founder, Ayush Pathak, saved money, visited San Francisco, and networked extensively, attending events where they hoped to meet influential people like Altman.
Aryan Sharma eventually succeeded in connecting with Sam Altman. In their meeting, he offered to be Altman’s secretary to learn from him and gain insights into OpenAI. Altman and the young entrepreneurs continued to maintain contact, which eventually led to Altman’s investment in their new AI platform, Induced AI.
Induced AI offers a browser-based system that uses AI agents to complete tasks. Their platform claims to automate browser tasks with AI workers. These AI agents are entirely cloud-based, ensuring that they do not disrupt other tasks on the user’s machine. Induced AI’s AI is designed to provide human-like reasoning, allowing the browser to interact with web services without the need for human intervention, except for authentication.
Aryan Sharma explained on Twitter, “We let anyone create virtual AI workers that can automate the execution of workflows on a browser in the cloud with human-like reasoning.”
In essence, Induced AI empowers businesses to input their workflows in plain English, which the platform instantly translates into pseudo-code to handle repetitive tasks typically managed by back offices.
Apart from Sam Altman, other notable players in the AI industry are backing this young Indian team’s venture. Induced AI has garnered support from Peak XV, Daniel Gross, Nat Friedman’s AI grant, and more. This successful investment underscores the potential of young entrepreneurs and their innovative solutions in the tech world.
