Hood raises Rs 1.2 crore from Lenskart and boAt founders on Shark Tank India

Hood, a social network that allows users to express themselves anonymously without fear of judgment, has secured funding of Rs 1.2 crore from Peeyush Bansal and Aman Gupta, founders of Lenskart and boAt, on the 40th episode of Shark Tank India Season 2. Hood, which was launched in July 2022, enables users to share their opinions, ask questions, and engage in discussions and debates on various subjects.
It provides a secure environment for people to express themselves openly without the risk of being scrutinized.
Jasveer Singh, Abhishek Asthana, and Deepak Kumar, the co-founders of Hood, showcased their social network on Shark Tank India to increase its exposure to people throughout the country due to the show’s nationwide reach. Jasveer Singh, who is also the CEO of Hood, expressed his enthusiasm about the program’s potential to elevate the platform’s status as a household name.
Moreover, he believed that securing investors like Peeyush Bansal and Aman Gupta would aid in enhancing their technology proficiency. Ultimately, Jasveer Singh stated that their appearance on Shark Tank India would contribute to building brand trust and reinforcing Hood’s worldwide reputation.
Hood, the pseudonymous social network, plans to utilize the recent funding of Rs 1.2 crore from Peeyush Bansal and Aman Gupta to scale the platform. The investment will go towards improving technology, hiring tech experts, and content moderation. The platform also intends to introduce additional features such as direct messaging and ask me anything. The founders aspire to establish Hood as the leading name in pseudonymity.
Hood has raised a total of $3.2 million in seed funding from over 20 unicorn founders, including Kunal Shah, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Ashish Hemrajani, Ashneer Grover, and Gaurav Gupta, along with several angel investors. The platform has already launched in the US market and aims to acquire millions of users and expand into other global markets.
