Funding Alert

Healthtech company Spry receives $7 million in a funding round led by Eight Roads Ventures

Spry, an end-to-end patient and practise management platform for physical therapists with offices in Pune and Delaware, has revealed that it has secured over $7 million in funding, led by Eight Roads Ventures. Along with Together Firm, a previous investor, the round also included its US-based sister fund F-Prime Capital.

Brijraj Bhuptani, a former Chief Technology Officer at Ola, and Riyaz Rehman, a former Chief Business Officer at Ridlr, founded Spry in 2021. Spry will utilise the new funding to expand its operations. $3 million has already been secured in a seed round headed by Together Fund. With this latest round, Spry has now successfully raised over $10 million in equity in just six months.

Physical therapists and physical therapy centre owners may manage their clinical and administrative tasks with the help of Spry’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. The software enables tasks including patient scheduling, communication, evaluations, revenue cycle management, home exercise programmes, adherence monitoring, and patient lifecycle management.

Bhuptani, co-founder and CEO of Spry, “With our 25-member strong team, we have been able to construct a new-age, dependable and trustworthy platform that enables physical therapists to run an omnichannel practice and increase the quality of patient treatment.”

Spry offers a self-assessment site as part of its platform and focuses mostly on the US market. After a thorough evaluation of their mobility and flexibility, the site uses computer vision technology to provide patients with a scorecard. Physical therapists can use the scorecard during the initial visit, which helps them manage time.

Dr Prem Pavoor, Senior Partner, Head of India and healthcare investments at Eight Roads Ventures, “Spry’s comprehensive and omnichannel platform is a very compelling value proposition to the growing number of physical therapy practises who aspire to provide a continuum of care to their patients, in-clinic and at home.”
