Greenothon, founded by Sanjeev Dhull and Geetanjali Chaudhary, embodies a commitment to environmental sustainability through extensive tree planting initiatives. Sanjeev, a seasoned professional with a diverse background in media, automobiles, and e-commerce, has played pivotal roles in notable companies such as the Hindustan Times Group and Hyundai Automobiles. As an early player in the Indian e-commerce startup scene, he collaborated with leading companies like Jabong.com and Fab Furnish.com. His experience extends to angel investments in Mera Cashier and board positions in Radiate Eservices and Techknowlabs.

Greenothon’s active engagement in plantation drives spans both government and private schools, with a particular focus on educating children about environmental responsibility. Notably, the trees planted during these initiatives are now bearing fruit, symbolizing the tangible impact of their efforts. The organization has also significantly contributed to the UP Government’s Plantation Drive at Sector 91 Biodiversity Park in Noida, planting over 1000 trees.

The core mission of Greenothon is to undertake persistent tree planting efforts, ranging from individual trees to the creation of food forests. A food forest emulates the structure of a natural forest, fostering a sustainable food production system with a variety of edible and beneficial plants. These food forests yield numerous benefits, including increased access to fresh, nutritious food, enhanced soil health, and greater biodiversity.

To support the establishment of food forests, Greenothon encourages plant donations, providing an opportunity for individuals to contribute to environmental responsibility. The proceeds from these donations fund the acquisition of plants, fertilizers, and materials, as well as salaries for local caretakers crucial to the success of the food forest. Regular contributors receive recognition, a “Greenothon Yodha” certificate, and public appreciation from Indian government ministers.

As the initiative progresses, Greenothon pledges to share regular updates about the dedicated plants through various platforms and WhatsApp, upon request. The organization invites everyone to join this collective effort, emphasizing the need for environmental preservation for the well-being of future generations.
