GIMS Launches “The Problem Bank” – A Visionary Initiative by Brig Dr. Rakesh Gupta

In a groundbreaking initiative to drive innovation in healthcare, the GIMS Centre for Medical Innovation, recognized by StartInUP, has unveiled “The Problem Bank” on National Startup Day. This unique platform invites individuals and institutions across India to share real-world healthcare challenges faced in public hospitals. Startups can select from a repository of validated problem statements reviewed by expert GIMS doctors to create impactful solutions addressing pressing healthcare issues.

The launch reflects the visionary leadership of Brig Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Director of GIMS, who has been instrumental in fostering innovation by empowering young startups. Under his guidance, GIMS established India’s first public hospital-based incubator, a pioneering step inaugurated by Dr. Atul Goel, Director General of Health Services (DGHS), Govt. of India. This incubator is the first of its kind to run disease-specific innovation calls, focusing on preventive measures and public health.

“The Problem Bank” aligns with GIMS’s mission to bridge the gap between healthcare needs and startup solutions. By providing startups with validated and impactful problem statements, GIMS ensures that innovation efforts are both meaningful and practical. This initiative is set to accelerate the creation of solutions that can significantly improve healthcare delivery in public hospitals while fostering a culture of problem-solving in the medical field.

Dr. Rahul Singh, Resident Doctor and Head of Incubation at GIMS, emphasized the collaborative nature of the initiative, stating, “Let’s innovate for India with solutions that can create a global impact!”
