Garuda Aerospace expands into Africa, following Malaysia

Drone startup Garuda Aerospace has entered the African market by partnering with Zimbabwe’s Harare Institute of Technology and Nyangani Virtual University as part of its strategy to expand its international footprint, the company announced on Wednesday. In June 2022, the Chennai-based company established a strategic partnership with HiiLSE Drones to establish a drone production facility in Malaysia.

“Garuda Aerospace presently makes an entry into Africa…will deploy drones for the agricultural industry, for large scale mapping, inspection, and training for better agricultural output,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday. According to the press release, the collaboration with Harare Institute of Technology & Nyangani Virtual University in Zimbabwe will enable better farming techniques through the use of cutting-edge technology by both the government and the private sector.
