Gaming Startup MetaShot Secures ₹11 Cr in Seed Funding Led by Sauce.vc

Bengaluru-based gaming startup MetaShot has raised ₹11 Cr (approximately $1.2 Mn) in a seed funding round led by Sauce.vc, with participation from Sharrp Ventures and Panthera Peak Capital.
The fresh capital will be utilized to expand the company’s team, boost research and development, drive growth, and enhance brand building.
Founded in 2021 by Prince Thomas, Ranjit Kumar Behera, and Ajith Sunny, MetaShot offers cricket console-like games, aiming to bring the console gaming experience to a broader audience.
Sharing the startup’s long-term vision, Prince Thomas, Co-founder of MetaShot, said: “Our vision for MetaShot is to become a platform that offers a diverse range of games, seamlessly merging the physical and virtual world. We thank Sauce.vc, Sharrp Ventures, and Panthera Peak Capital for their confidence and commitment to supporting our vision and growth.”
MetaShot has expanded its presence in the Middle East and is now eyeing an entry into the US market. The company also projects a 5X revenue growth from the last financial year.
Highlighting the rapid adoption of their gaming platform, Thomas further added: “We’ve already seen over 8 lakh matches on MetaShot in the short span of our journey, validating the customers’ interest in this unique metaphysical play.”
MetaShot was also featured in Shark Tank India Season 4, gaining significant traction in the gaming ecosystem.
The funding comes at a time when India’s gaming industry is witnessing a surge in investor interest, particularly from GenZ gamers. In November 2023, gaming major Nazara Technologies and Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath’s WTFund jointly invested ₹2 Cr in two gaming startups—Norian Games and Xigma Games.
The same month, Funstop Games secured $5 Mn in its Series A round, led by 360 ONE Asset, with participation from InfoEdge Ventures. Additionally, Kratos Gamer Network (KGeN) raised $10 Mn (₹84.4 Cr) in a funding round led by AptosLabs.
