Frammer AI, a startup founded by the former management team of NDTV, has successfully raised ₹16.6 crore ($2 million) in a seed round investment from Lumikai, India’s pioneering gaming and interactive media venture capital fund. Founded just over a year ago, Frammer AI offers a comprehensive platform that allows businesses to create high-quality, short-form videos for social media quickly and efficiently.
With clients in both India and the US, Frammer AI has already gained notable customers such as The India Today Group, Zee News, and Acko, an insurance company. The company has also been named the official AI content partner of Brightcove, a US-listed streaming service provider that works with thousands of publishers worldwide.
Leveraging custom AI training and the media expertise of its founders, Frammer AI enables businesses to generate ready-to-publish content with minimal effort. The platform offers features like transcription, captions, and the ability to create short-form content such as Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. It also transforms long-form videos into multiple platform-specific packages within minutes, making it easier for companies to maximize the use of their content. In addition, the platform summarizes webinars and internal video conferences, simplifying complex processes.
Frammer AI was founded by Suparna Singh, former CEO and president of NDTV; Kawaljit Singh Bedi, former Chief Product and Technology Officer at NDTV; and Arijit Chatterjee, who was Chief Strategy Officer at the television network.
The company is already generating revenue and is seeing strong interest from international markets, including movie studios and sports rights-holders. With the recent funding from Lumikai, Frammer AI aims to expand further into sports and entertainment, scale its tech team, and invest in data training to enhance its services.
Commenting on the rising demand for short-form video, Suparna Singh, CEO and co-founder of Frammer AI, said, “The need for – and interest in – short-form video has never been higher. We’re thrilled to hear from clients that Frammer is creating larger audiences for them by utilising all their video to its fullest potential. We’ve used all our experience and knowledge to train Frammer to deliver the most accurate results for complex content, and it’s gratifying to see very effective results.”
Lumikai, known for backing innovative media-tech solutions, believes in Frammer AI’s potential to disrupt the video creation space. Salone Sehgal, Founding Partner at Lumikai, stated, “We look forward to the journey with Frammer AI. As a leadership team, they have consistently driven businesses from inception to profitability and delivered shareholder value with pioneering content, product and media-tech solutions while leading NDTV. In a world where brands, enterprises, and media houses must consistently engage audiences through social media, Frammer AI’s impressive client roster is testament to the value of their solution.”
