Flipkart Expands Digital Payment Services with BillDesk Partnership

Flipkart has introduced five new recharge and bill payment categories. The categories include Fastag, DTH recharges, landline, broadband, and mobile postpaid bill payments. This expansion is made possible through a strategic partnership with BillDesk and integration with the Bharat Bill Payments System (BBPS).

Ajay Kaushal, Co-Founder and Director of BillDesk, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are thrilled to extend BBPS services to Flipkart, our longstanding partner. This strategic expansion allows Flipkart customers to experience seamless bill payments, receive timely notifications, and check amounts due across their preferred billers, leveraging BBPS capabilities.”

To attract customers to the new services, Flipkart is offering a limited-time deal where customers can redeem offers of up to 10% with SuperCoins by using Flipkart UPI. This initiative is part of Flipkart’s broader strategy to streamline electronic bill payments and enhance customer convenience.

Earlier this year, in March, Flipkart launched its own UPI handle @fkaxis in collaboration with Axis Bank, the issuer of its co-branded credit card. Additionally, Flipkart’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app, super.money, was launched in beta mode last month and is currently available to just 100,000 users. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

According to the app’s description, super.money offers “credit with the speed of UPI” through a partnership with Utkarsh Small Finance Bank. Axis Bank and IndusInd Bank are also listed as banking partners. The app promises up to 5% “real cashback” on transactions instead of “useless rewards,” providing a more valuable incentive for users.
