Fire Damages BharatPe’s Warehouse in Delhi, Causes Losses of Rs 50 Lakh

A fire broke out at the warehouse of fintech unicorn BharatPe located in the Malviya Nagar area of Delhi last night. The incident, caused by an electrical short-circuit, resulted in significant damage to swipe machines, soundboxes, and other materials belonging to the company. The estimated loss is valued at around Rs 50 lakh.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson from BharatPe stated, “An unfortunate incident occurred at BharatPe’s warehouse last night. The incident was reported to the authorities, and emergency services responded promptly to ensure the safety of the surrounding areas.”

The affected warehouse primarily stored faulty or discarded devices, according to the spokesperson. Preliminary assessments indicate a loss of under Rs 50 lakh. BharatPe is actively cooperating with the authorities and is diligently working to thoroughly evaluate the situation.
