EaseMyTrip Signs LOI to Join ONDC at Startup Mahotsav

Travel tech platform Easy Trip Planners Ltd., operating under the brand EaseMyTrip, has announced the signing of a letter of intent (LOI) to join the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). The announcement was made during the ‘ONDC Startup Mahotsav,’ an event organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), ONDC, and Startup India.

The LOI signing took place at the Startup Mahotsav, held on May 17, 2024. This event marks a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing the digital transformation of commerce in India. EaseMyTrip’s Co-Founder, Rikant Pittie, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “By joining the ONDC Network, we are taking a significant step towards supporting the digital transformation of commerce in India. This collaboration aligns with our vision of being a nation-first company, contributing to the growth and development of India’s digital economy.”

EaseMyTrip’s integration into the ONDC framework highlights its commitment to providing seamless, accessible, and efficient travel services while contributing to the democratization of digital commerce across the country. The ONDC initiative, launched by the Indian government in 2021, aims to establish an open, inclusive, and competitive digital commerce ecosystem, lowering entry barriers for small businesses and fostering a level playing field in the e-commerce sector.
