Dunzo faces legal notice from seven firms over unpaid dues

Indian quick-grocery delivery company, Dunzo, has received legal notices from at least seven companies in March of this year, as reported by media sources. The companies sending the notices include Google India, Nilenso, Clover Ventures, Facebook India Online Services Private Limited, Cupshup, Koo, and Glance. The outstanding debts owed to various vendors amount to approximately Rs 11.4 crore, which is almost double the previously estimated Rs 5-6 crore.

Among the companies sending legal notices, Clover Ventures, an agritech startup, demanded Dunzo to clear dues exceeding Rs two crore. Similarly, Cupshup, an advertising agency, sent a notice seeking payment of Rs 1 crore owed to them for their services. Glance, a lock-screen platform, demanded Rs 58 lakh from Dunzo for the services provided. Koo, a microblogging website, also confronted Dunzo for not refunding its security credit of over Rs sixty-two lakh after vacating the leased office space.

Before these notices, Dunzo faced legal action from Facebook India Online Services Private Ltd and Nilenso over unpaid dues of Rs four crore. Additionally, Google India, one of Dunzo’s major investors, issued a notice demanding payment of over Rs 3.1 crore for services rendered.

Due to financial challenges, Dunzo has informed its employees that their salaries will be delayed until early September, with senior staff receiving their August salaries on September 4th.
