Dream11, India’s leading fantasy sports platform, has introduced a new feature called Guru Home, aiming to revolutionize the creator economy in sports. Announced on Monday, this initiative will enable users to gain valuable insights on team formulation strategies from seasoned “Gurus” across various sports. Dream11 aims to onboard 50,000 creators by 2028, with a significant focus on individuals from Tier III and Tier IV cities.
Guru Home offers Gurus a platform to showcase their expertise while building a sustainable source of income. In parallel, it provides sports fans access to verified experts, enhancing user trust, safety, and transparency on the platform.
“At Dream11, our user-first approach drives innovation, and we’re excited to launch Guru Home in response to the growing demand for formalizing the creator economy in sports to enhance fan engagement. Guided by our vision to Make Sports Better, we’re committed to fostering a culture of passion and learning in sports,” said Rahul Mirchandani, Chief Product Officer at Dream11.
This announcement comes as India’s mobile gaming industry continues to experience remarkable growth. Increasing internet penetration and widespread smartphone usage have contributed to a surge in the number of gamers in the country.
A recent report by gaming venture fund Limikai titled State of India Interactive Media and Gaming Report highlighted that the Indian gaming industry is expected to reach $9.2 billion by FY29. The new media market is also projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16%, reaching $12.5 billion by FY24.
Dream11, headquartered in Mumbai, boasts a user base of over 220 million individuals engaging in fantasy sports, including cricket, football, kabaddi, and basketball. The launch of Guru Home is expected to further strengthen its position as a leader in the fantasy sports domain while empowering the rapidly growing creator economy in India.
