DigitalPaani Raises $1.2 Million in Seed Funding Led by Elemental Excelerator for Water Management Innovation


DigitalPaani, a leading provider in redesigning water management, has successfully raised $1.2 million in a seed funding round, marking a significant milestone with Elemental Excelerator leading the investment as their first venture in Asia.

Currently, DigitalPaani’s technology is adopted by over 40 industry giants, including Tata Power, Delhi Jal Board, Britannia, and Leela Hotels. The startup specializes in offering automation and software solutions aimed at enhancing the functionality of wastewater treatment infrastructure. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in monitoring infrastructure performance, identifying issues, and providing remedial guidance.

The seed funding round witnessed participation from a mix of global and Indian investors, with Elemental Excelerator making its inaugural investment in Asia. Indian institutional investors Enzia, Peer Cheque, SAE, DevC, and Bharat Founders Fund joined the round, along with contributions from notable angels such as Ashish Goel (Urban Ladder), Alok Mittal (Indifi), Mohit Sadani (Moms Co), and Mohit Tandon (Delhivery).

Over the next twelve months, DigitalPaani aims to accelerate its growth in key urban centers, including the National Capital Region of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad. The company envisions assisting more than 150 wastewater treatment facilities during this period, contributing significantly to India’s water sustainability goals.

Founded by a father-daughter duo, DigitalPaani is committed to transforming wastewater management, unlocking its potential to fulfill up to 65 percent of water needs while simultaneously reducing costs by up to 35 percent. The startup’s IoT-enabled platform optimizes plant operations, increasing wastewater treatment efficiency, reducing downtime, and facilitating water reuse.

The fresh funds raised are earmarked to scale DigitalPaani’s technology across more wastewater treatment plants in India and explore opportunities in future markets. The funding will also play a pivotal role in unlocking additional sales channels for the startup.

Mansi Jain, CEO, and Co-Founder of DigitalPaani expressed excitement about building and expanding their offering, stating, “We’re excited to build our offering out and help facilities across the country unlock the power of our platform.”

Dawn Lippert, Founder and CEO of Elemental, emphasized their commitment to scaling technologies with deep climate and community impact. Lippert stated, “We believe that clean water is a fundamental right for all, and its innovative approach to water management is a crucial step toward achieving that.”
