Cookr’s platform connects consumers with highly skilled home cooks, delivering delicious home-cooked meals straight from their kitchens. The innovative service not only provides an unparalleled dining experience, but also creates thousands of micro-entrepreneurial opportunities, helping home cooks support their families.
Cookr, co-founded in 2022 by Praba Santhanakrishnan, Saravanakumar Kandasamy, and Nirmalkumar Muthu, aims to promote well-being and nourish the community with wholesome food. With over 500 home cooks on its platform, Cookr offers a diverse range of nutritious and hygienic home-cooked meal options tailored to meet customers’ dietary preferences and requirements. The platform is currently available in nine cities across Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, Hosur, Chidambaram, Thanjavur, Salem, Vellore, and Kumbakonam.
Cookr, which aims to empower communities with accessible and nutritious home food through technology and home kitchens, is set to expand its operations to Puducherry and Chennai by the end of this month, with plans for pan-India expansion in the near future. The platform’s mission is to make healthy food more accessible and seamless for everyone while providing home chefs with robust and intuitive technology to connect with customers. To achieve this, Cookr plans to onboard 200,000 more home cooks over the next five years, fostering micro-entrepreneurship and supporting families across India.
“We are thrilled to have secured this pre-seed investment, which will allow us to bring our vision to life and make a real impact in the lives of home cooks” said Praba Santhanakrishnan, Co-founder and CEO of Cookr. “We see that there is a huge demand for healthy home-made food and long shelf-life food products, and we are excited to offer a solution that will cater to this rapidly growing market.”
Arun Viswanathan, Software Development Manager at Amazon in the USA, expressed excitement about partnering with Cookr to promote healthy eating and convenience in India. According to him, Cookr’s approach to providing healthy food options in the food technology industry is innovative and poised to disrupt the market. He expressed his eagerness to work with Cookr and support their growth and success.
Cookr plans to use the pre-seed investment to expand their team, add more features to the platform and launch the marketplace across India to enhance accessibility to healthy food. The Cookr app is currently available on both the App Store and Google Playstore.
