Cloudphysician Appoints Mandar Vaidya as India CEO

Cloudphysician, an AI-based healthcare startup, has announced the appointment of Mandar Vaidya as its India Chief Executive Officer, effective June. Vaidya brings over two decades of global business experience to the company, having previously served as the regional CEO of hospitality chain Oyo, overseeing multiple geographies outside of India, including Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Japan.
Cloudphysician, a full-stack tech and operations company, partners with hospitals to manage patients in their intensive care units (ICU) and emergency departments. The company aims to leverage advanced technology to improve diagnosis and treatment, delivering the best possible outcomes for patients.
“By leveraging advanced technology for more precise diagnosis and treatment, we will deliver the best possible outcomes for patients,” said Vaidya. “Together, we will strive to set new benchmarks in healthcare and transform care delivery in hospitals.”
In addition to his new role at Cloudphysician, Vaidya serves as an independent director on the board of drugmaker Cipla. He has also been a partner at McKinsey & Co., where he led the healthcare practice in Asia and developed strategies for hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.
Cloudphysician recently secured $10.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Elevar Equity and venture debt firm Panthera Peak.

Cloudphysician has demonstrated significant impact by reducing ICU mortality rates by up to 40% in partner hospitals, with 24/7 AI-enabled clinical support. To date, the company has managed care for more than 100,000 ICU patients across over 200 hospitals.
