Chaos engineering platform- Steadybit launched its reliability and chaos engineering platform in general availability today, and announced that it has raised about $7.8 million in seed funding led by Boldstart Ventures. Including the new funding, Steadybit has raised a total of $9.3 million till date, previous investors include- Angular Ventures and New Forge.
Steadybit (founded 2019) offers a “chaos engineering” platform which is designed to reduce the downtime and provide visibility into systems to detect issues. Chaos engineering is the process of testing a distributed computing system which relies on concepts underlying chaos theory whose main focus is on random and unpredictable behavior- to ensure that it can withstand unexpected disruptions. The platform’s main features include- an extensible and intuitive experiment editor which makes it easier to model hypotheses about the system based on past incidents or architecture according to the requirements even without any prior programming experience.

Not only this, Steadybit offers a comprehensive application programming interface too, which will allow deep product integration into already existing workflows and rigorous automations to reduce administrative effort of large-scale roll-outs. “Resilience is a team sport and because resilience is a shared responsibility, we developed Steadybit as the chaos engineering platform that is equally beneficial to site reliability engineers, DevOps and developers,” stated Benjamin Wilms the co-founder and Chief Executive of the company.
