Certa Raises $35 Million in Series B Funding for Compliance and Risk Management Platform


Certa, a compliance and risk management platform, has successfully secured $35 million (approximately Rs 291 crore) in its Series B funding round. The funding round was led by Fin Capital and Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India. Notable participants in this round include Tru Arrow Partners, Point72 Ventures, BDMI, the family office of Aglae Ventures, Mantis VC, and GOAT Capital. With this latest funding injection, Certa’s total institutional investment now stands at $50 million.

Certa intends to utilize the newly acquired capital to strengthen its go-to-market strategies, implement next-generation technologies, and expand its presence in high-demand markets, according to a press release from the company.

Founded in 2013 by Jagmeet Lamba, Certa offers a platform that facilitates the sharing of data among all third parties, including vendors, partners, and clients. It enables these parties to internalize a company’s compliance and risk-related rules and policies. Certa provides a range of services, including risk-scoring reports, templates, modules, third-party validations, and questionnaires to assess risk and ensure compliance with regulations.

The company boasts of its ability to assist clients in onboarding and monitoring millions of companies across 120 countries, supporting 41 different languages. Certa also claims that its services enable companies to significantly reduce cycle times by more than 78% and cut operating costs by 50%.

Noteworthy competitors in this space, such as Hyperproof, Cypago, and Kompliant, have also secured substantial funding in recent times.
