- ByStartupStory | June 15, 2022
Bharti Airtel, the country’s largest telecommunications company, announced the country’s first Metaverse multiplex on the PartyNite Metaverse platform on Tuesday (June 14). The 20-screen platform, called Xstream multiplex, would be an expansion of Airtel’s Xstream Premium product. The platform will make use of Airtel’s content inventory and provide several layers of interaction for consumers to interact with on the PartyNite Metaverse.
The multiplex, according to Airtel, will feature a selection of original series and films in languages other than English and Hindi. The idea was conceived by advertising agency Essence and developed by PartyNite’s parent business, Gamitronics, the company said.
Gamitronics is a Hyderabad-based virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) startup that runs its own Metaverse PartyNite. Shortly, the company hopes to launch its token to sell its own NFTs to scale up its Metaverse.

Gamitronics said in a statement that the solution might be scaled up to handle live events and premium sports streaming in the future. It goes on to say that the agreement will boost social engagement on the platform and give consumers access to fresh forms of immersive content delivery.
Many major Indian firms have also jumped on board with Web3.0. With the introduction of TechMVerse in February of this year, IT behemoth Tech Mahindra launched its Metaverse venture. Tanishq, a jewellery company owned by the Tata Group, debuted its line on the Metaverse for the first time in April 2022. Experts say that By 2022, the global Metaverse market is expected to reach $38.85 billion. This figure is predicted to climb to $678.8 billion by 2030, representing a 39.4% CAGR between 2022 and 2030.
