Anant Maheshwari steps down as President of Microsoft India

Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari has tendered his resignation from his position, according to a statement from the company. Maheshwari has chosen to pursue a role outside of Microsoft, marking the end of his successful tenure with the organization. Microsoft expressed gratitude for Maheshwari’s contributions to the company’s business in India and wished him well in his future endeavors.

During his time at Microsoft, Maheshwari played a key role in driving the company’s growth and success in India. With his extensive experience at renowned companies such as Honeywell and McKinsey & Company, Maheshwari brought valuable insights and expertise to Microsoft when he joined in 2016. He holds a distinguished educational background, having completed his studies at Birla Institute of Technology and Science and Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad.

This leadership change comes as part of a larger reshuffle among top-level executives at Microsoft. Irina Ghose, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, has been promoted to the position of Managing Director of India, while Sashi Sreedharan, the current Managing Director, will assume a more significant role within the organization.

There have been speculations regarding the potential joining of Puneet Chandok, former head of AWS India, to Microsoft India in the near future. Further details will be shared as they become available.
