ACKO Acquires Health-Tech Company OneCare

Tech-first D2C insurer ACKO has announced its acquisition of Bengaluru-based OneCare, a digital chronic care management company. Although the details of the all-cash transaction remain undisclosed, it has been confirmed that Dr. Rakesh Shivran and Sagar Bhat, co-founders of OneCare, will join ACKO’s leadership team.

This acquisition aligns with ACKO’s broader strategy to build a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem that addresses all aspects of a customer’s health insurance needs, from protection and prevention to care and recovery. The company aims to enhance the healthcare experiences of its customers by incorporating OneCare’s advanced capabilities.

Founded by Varun Dua in 2016, ACKO has been at the forefront of leveraging technology to build and operate innovative insurance platforms. The company also recently launched a unique Extended Battery Warranty plan in collaboration with OEMs Ather and Hero.

ACKO’s previous acquisition of digital health platform Parentlane in March 2023 further demonstrates its commitment to expanding its healthcare offerings and delivering integrated, customer-centric solutions.
