Accenture appoints Country Managing Director and India Market Unit lead to head India operations

Accenture, a global technology firm, has made changes to its leadership team in India, with Ajay Vij assuming the newly created position of Country Managing Director and Sandeep Dutta taking over as head of the India Market Unit. Additionally, Rekha M Menon, the Senior Managing Director and Chairperson for Accenture in India, is set to retire on June 30.
The newly appointed leaders at Accenture in India will assume the primary responsibilities of the retiring Chairperson. As the Country Managing Director, Ajay Vij will expand his current role as the Corporate Services and Sustainability lead for India to oversee the company’s overall leadership and coordinated decision-making. Meanwhile, Sandeep Dutta, the India Sales Lead, will lead Accenture’s India Market Unit and drive business and operations in the domestic market. His responsibilities will also include working with local business communities and representing Accenture with local industry and trade bodies.
Throughout her two-decade tenure at Accenture, Rekha M. Menon held several positions in Accenture’s growth markets. As Chairperson, she played an instrumental role in expanding Accenture’s business, enhancing its presence in the communities it serves, and establishing connections with significant stakeholders, including clients, government, and industry leaders.
Databricks has revealed that it will boost its employee count in India by over 50% in 2023, with the addition of positions including sales and support engineers, technical specialists, and go-to-market staff to its present team of over 250 workers. Furthermore, the company will establish a new research and development hub in Bengaluru later this year.
Databricks, a data and AI company, reports that it is achieving 90% year-over-year business growth across the Asia Pacific region. The company’s data lakehouse architecture unifies data management by blending the flexibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of data warehouses with BI and ML capabilities, enabling comprehensive data analysis. Additionally, Databricks has recruited Anil Bhasin as Country Manager for India, charged with accelerating the adoption of the lakehouse architecture across the country. The company also intends to expand its Indian workforce by over 50% this year and establish an R&D hub in Bengaluru.
