Bijnis, an India-based business-to-business (B2B) platform for factories, has secured US$30 million in series B funding led by Westbridge Capital. Existing investors Info Edge, Matrix Partners India, Sequoia India, and WaterBridge Ventures also participated in the round. With the fresh funds, Bijnis has raised US$42 million to date.
The B2B firm will use the investment to expand its base of manufacturers and help them grow their factories.
Additionally, the team will be building technology and products focused on increasing the production efficiency of factories. It is currently building a credit assistance feature and an export channel for manufacturers. Founded in 2015, the startup focuses on the unorganized retailers in the fashion, footwear, and lifestyle industries. The unorganized retail sector is a US$100 billion opportunity, according to the company.
The Bijnis Factory App builds digital profiles that enable manufacturers to scale their businesses. The app gives manufacturers direct access to over 100,000 retailers on the startup’s platform, and it also enables its users to create their own distribution channels. Over 5,000 manufacturers are currently running their businesses on the app. “Bijnis’ vision is to take factories to the world by digitalizing and building a globally integrated network of manufacturers on one platform,” said Siddharth Vij, co-founder and CEO of the company.
