Twitter Tells Delhi HC, ‘Final Stages Of Appointing Grievance Officer’

Twitter tells Delhi HC, on Saturday  that it was in the ‘final stages’ of appointing a resident grievance officer, as per the source. Further, the source said,  Dharmendra Chatur, who was recently appointed as interim resident grievance officer for India by Twitter, has quit from the post. Under the new IT rules of India, social media firms are required to appoint a chief compliance officer, a nodal contact person and a resident grievance officer, all of whom should be Indian residents. If these platforms do not comply with the digital rules, they will lose their intermediary status, which protects them from liability for any third-party data they host.
