In The Post 2nd Wave Scenario, Women Gen Z Most Vulnerable In Job Market

Not just India’s economy, but the overall workforce has also suffered in the Pandemic, among which Women, Gen Z most vulnerable in job market. The individual confidence index score of Women professionals fell almost eight points in June, a fourfold decline in comparison the male workers’ confidence, said a job networking platform. The average time for fresh graduates to find a new job has also increased by 43 % from 2 to 2.8 months. GenZ who are below 25 years of age, or in other word who are the young workforce of the country have now fallen victim to this job recession in, as proved by a survey by LinkedIn in the post covid 2nd wave job condition.
The overall workforce confidence has somewhat risen back in March, and 3 months later it has slumped back again. Gen Z workers are now twice more worried about finding a job than their senior colleagues. After the Covid 19 scenario most companies are looking for candidates with work experience and professional connection, and thus making Women, Gen Z most vulnerable in job market. Indian women therefore are 2 times more likely to be worried about the availability of job, their professional experience and time devoted to job seeking than working men today. This has also impacted the financial stability of working women as 23 % of female workers are worried about debt and growing expenses, in contrast to 13 % of the working men.
