Startup body in Tamil Nadu appoints new CEO

Tami Nadu’s startup body, TANSIM(Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission) has appointed Mr. Sivarajah Ramathan as the new CEO. The Madurai-based social entrepreneur for 25 years will be the first in this post that will be effective from January 2022.
The startup body was set up as a branch of the EDII(Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute) in 2018, as a part of the Startup and Innovation policy 2018-23. The body is creating a support base for the state of Tamil Nadu’s startup ecosystem, also known as StartupTN.
Ramanathan has been actively involved in managing a community platform for the development of the startup ecosystem in the Tier2 and Tier 3 cities of Tamil Nadu. Besides that he also has great experience in the investment tie-ups from institutions and angel investors. The appointment at TANSIM was a result of his experience and dedication, an official release mentioned.
Mr Ramanathan said in a statement, “We intend to focus on creating an inclusive startup ecosystem in the state extending beyond Chennai. We want to reach the message of new-age entrepreneurship to every small district of the state and across multiple sectors.”
