Gurugram based Agaamin Technologies to launch smart internet domain ‘.bha’

The Gurugram based startup Agaamin Technologies recently announced the launch of its vernacular smart internet domain .bha which is the first alphabet of the word Bharat and also the Devanagari equivalent of dotcom and dotin. Through the launch of a new domain name, the founder wishes to bridge the digital divide between Indian and Bharat.

It is interesting to note that ‘.bha’ is not only the first smart name in the country but also across Asia and essentially the second/third globally as per the ‘smart name registry for the world of dWen or decentralised web’.

Looking forward, the startup also plans to launch a Bengali, Urdu and Malayalam version of the maiden offering. Further, the founder revealed that they have plans to have emojis and surnames as top-level domains (TLDs) shortly.

“The first ‘smart TLD’ to be launched is in Devanagari (Hindi) and it will be a single letter TLD that will be the first alphabet of the word Bharat. Agaamin will also in phases roll out the same alphabet in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada Manipuri, and all other languages,” proclaimed Sajan Nair, founder of Agaamin Technologies.

Apart from the registration of smart names, he is also planning to create a secondary market where users can buy and sell their smart names thus creating value for the holders of the smart names.
