Zomato among nine new stocks in MSCI India Index from December
Zomato NSE 8.59 percent is scheduled to join the MSCI India index at the end of the month, only months after becoming the first consumer internet startup to list on national stock exchanges following a successful debut.SRF, Tata Power, Mindtree, Godrej Properties, IRCTC, Mphasis, Bharat Electronics, and Bajaj Holdings will be among the newcomers. This comes after the index’s semi-annual assessment in November.
The modifications will take effect following the close of business on November 30. Passive funds are expected to invest $1.4 billion in these nine stocks, according to analysts. The number of Indian equities in the MSCI Standard Index would rise to 108 from 101 following the revision. IPCA Laboratories and REC have been removed from the MSCI India Index by the index provider.
