Tevva raises $57M in funding
UK-based Tevva recently raised $57 million in a round of funding. The startup plans to use the capital raised to increase production at its new London plant and deliver its first vehicles by 2022.
The company plans to launch two zero-emission, 7.5 tonne models for customers The models will include a small reserve hydrogen fuel cell to boost its range to 500km.
“We understand how the truck world operates and the huge risk of that range limit is too difficult for a lot of companies to overcome,” said Tevva CEO Asher Bennett.
The company presently supplies UPS with 15 test model lorries. Tevva intends to produce hundreds of vehicles by the end of 2022 and increase production to 3,000 lorries a year by 2023.
