Ratan Tata’s biz assistant launches startup for senior citizens


Shantanu Naidu, the business assistant to Tata Group Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata, aims to develop GoodFellows, a startup geared at offering companionship and assisting the elderly in their daily routines.

 

“GoodFellows, a for-profit startup that provides intergenerational friendship and calls itself a “companionship firm,” is an upcoming for-profit venture that provides intergenerational friendship. In a note, Naidu stated, “It engages young, educated graduates up to the age of 30 to develop intergenerational bonds between them and the elderly in order to minimise loneliness.”

Since 2018, Naidu has worked as a Deputy General Manager (Chairman’s Office) for Ratan Tata. He formerly worked at Tata Elxsi in Pune as an automobile design engineer.Shantanu (28), an MBA graduate of Cornell University, is the Tata Group’s fifth generation employee.

GoodFellows will formally begin next year and will operate on a monthly membership basis. They plan to hire young graduates to care for the elderly. They are currently accepting requests from anyone who want to try out this service for free and without risk.

The firm has been able to discover and validate the authenticity and outcomes to satisfy the utility demands of the elderly, companionship that is more complicated and requires a more empathic grasp of what a companion means” through an ongoing beta pilot, according to Naidu.
