Space based HawkEye 360 raises $145 Million in Series D round of funding

The radio frequency satellite company, HawkEye 360 has announced that it raised $145 million in its series D round of funding led by Insight Partners and Seraphim Space Investment Trust. The round also saw participation from leading investors like United Arab Emirates based Strategic Development Fund, Jacobs, Gula Tech Adventures, 116 Street Ventures, New North Ventures and NightDragon among others.
The startup aims to use the newly infused capital to scale up the space radio frequency and data analytics dimension. Furthermore the company also wishes to double the size of planned constellations from 10 to 20. HawkEye also plans on branching into the spacecraft assembly in the light of its recent partnership with Space Flight Lab.

Founded in 2015 by John Serfini, HawkEye 360 is a one of its kind Earth observation startup which produces satellites that observe constellations on the basis of the radio frequency exhibited by it. Till date, the company has launched 9 satellites into the orbit and plans on sending 21 more by the year 2023.
