European startup launches uni with sustainability focus
Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences is a remote-first university that intends to educate future generations in order to generate solutions for a more sustainable society, with a focus on impact and shared prosperity. Learners will be able to develop “21st Century skills” in sustainability, entrepreneurship, and technology through online and in-person learning, and will be able to learn from anywhere in the world thanks to its newly designed platform.
ToU harnesses the European startup and innovation landscape to help tomorrow’s business leaders create a more sustainable society through “creativity, boldness, and entrepreneurial drive,” according to the organisation.”The next generation of leaders does not want to work for polluting corporations.” “Companies that are not carbon neutral will have a difficult time attracting talent,” said Christian Rebernik, co-founder of ToU.
“Today’s students are concerned about sustainability; they are the catalysts for change in the future.” According to data, many traditional universities are not responding quickly or effectively enough.”We established Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences to assist individuals in building a more sustainable society – on a platform that is tailored to their requirements.” We are the first organisation to combine this cutting-edge learning method with a focus on sustainability and social responsibility.”
Courses will be available to students from all around the world and will be built on the company’s freshly constructed platform. Traditional lectures will be replaced by challenge-based learning and “competency-defined customization” at the new university.”Before beginning a course, participants can specify their goals using the data-driven learning platform. The institution said in a statement that “knowledge is obtained in a modern, active learning format at the learner’s own pace through interactive sessions lasting roughly 15 minutes.”The recognised bachelor’s programmes are six semesters long and taught in English. Each programme has a maximum capacity of 25 students.
“It is beautiful to see how an outstanding group of professionals from all walks of life, very diverse as to professional, cultural and educational background can so push forward with their great ideas on how to tackle grand societal challenges. I am really excited to see that ToU will also make that possible for its bachelor students – and we are happy to contribute,” added Stöttinger.
