Bounce intends to infuse $100 million in its EV business


The e-scooter rental service provider, Bounce intends to infuse $100 million in its EV business over the next 12 months with the aim to expand its battery swapping infrastructure and initiate e-scooter manufacturing.

The company plans to unveil its first e-scooter towards the end of the year with deliveries starting from February end. Further the management team expects around 100000 pre bookings of the e-scooter following the launch. The price range of the bikes would be from INR 50,000 to 70,000.

Following the announcement, the co-founder and CEO of Bounce, Vivekananda Hallekere commented, “We want to make EV mainstream…when we’re talking about transition to EVs, we want to make sure millions of vehicles can actually practically look at it and not worry about charging infra, range or battery related issues….We will have two variants and by November-end, we will start pre-booking and deliveries will start February-end.”

Bangalore based bike rental company Bounce was founded with the mission to promote public transport to decongest the roads. Bounce is India’s first smart urban mobility startup which allows its users to rent a bike and make their commute hassle free and affordable through metro station pickups.
