Urban Company to increase prices for top services, reduces commissions taken
Home services platform Urban Company recently announced that it plans on increasing prices for its top services and decreasing the percentage of commissions it takes so as to increase partner earnings.
The company announced a 12-point program aimed at simplifying its systems and processes, and making them more transparent. In a statement, Urban Company stated that it will be reducing its commission slabs for beauty related services to a range of 8.5 percent to 25 percent, thus bringing the average commission around 22 percent. Furthermore, it has decided to reduce the penalties charged to their partners in case of any issue.
The statement said, “Earlier, there was no cap on penalties charged per month per partner, which was recently changed to put a maximum cap of Rs 3,000 on monthly penalties charged per partner. We are further reducing the maximum cap on monthly penalties per partner per month to Rs 1,500.”
Additionally, the company plans on implementing an SOS helpline to ensure the safety of its women partners. They also announced plans to release a UC Earnings Index to increase transparency.
