TVS Motor partners with Tata Power to build EV charging stations across India

Tata Power and TVS Motor Company announced a strategic partnership on October 5 to set up electric vehicle charging stations across the country. The two companies have agreed to expand the use of electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) in India and deploy solar power technology at TVS Motor locations as part of the MoU.
In a regulatory filing, TVS Motor Company says the partnership will allow the country to become more electric by creating large charging infrastructure for two-wheelers. Through the TVS Motor customer connect app and Tata Power EZ Charge app, TVS iQube Electric customers also now have access to Tata Power’s widespread charging network across India.
Among the goals of the agreement is to create a regular AC charging network and a fast-charging system for electric two-wheelers in the country, TVS Motor Company stated.“This collaboration with Tata Power marks yet another significant milestone towards enabling a greener future for the country. Our partnership will substantially enhance customer convenience through world-class fast-charging solutions,”
TVS Motor Company joint managing director Sudarshan Venu noted.With its agreement with Tata Power, TVS iQube Electric plans to expand into over 25 cities in the near future. Electric scooters are currently available in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Kochi, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Surat, Vizag, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad.
“Through this collaboration, we will further leverage our expertise to enhance synergy between sustainable mobility and renewable energy integration resulting in the creation of a robust EV charging eco-system across India,” Tata Power CEO and MD Praveer Sinha said.
More than 120 cities in India are served by Tata Power’s network of more than 5,000 home chargers and 700 public chargers. The company provides charging stations for the public, captive, home, and workplace grids, as well as all types of chargers, DC and AC.
