Tala raises $145M in Series E funding led by Upstart
PayPal-backed fintech Tala recently raised $$145 million in ites Series E round of funding led by Upstart. The round also saw participation from Stellar Development Foundation, Kindred Ventures and the J Safra Group, accompanied by existing investors like IVP, Revolution Growth, Lowercase Capital, and PayPal Ventures.
Founded in 2013, the global financial services company announced its intention to use the capital raised to roll out its new financial account experience and expand its teams in Kenya, India, the Philippines, Mexico, and the United States. Furthermore the funds will be utilised to scale the firm’s operations geographically and expand its product offerings- including crypto offerings.
