Flipkart’s Social Commerce Arm Shopsy Records 40x Growth
Shopsy, Flipkart’s social commerce offering, has reported a 40x growth since its launch in July 2021. The site has amassed 2.5 lakh sellers, 51 lakh users, and a catalogue of over 15 crore products.
The Big Billion Days sale in October has skyrocketed the platform’s growth by 35x as compared to its pre-festival daily average. Additionally, Shopsy witnessed a 16x growth in the first four days of the festival.
Shopsy has been working to create a rapport of dependability with its users. The platform provides users with the option to simply register with their mobile number and begin selling their product. It aims to create an environment of trust and transparency. Prakash Sikaria (Senior VP, Growth and Monetisation) attributes Flipkart’s locally developed technology, resilient supply chain, and deep consumer understanding to Shopsy’s rise to the leading social commerce platform in India within 100 days of its launch.
The top user categories include fashion, home, and mobiles. The platform’s simplified social media interface makes for an effortless experience. Flipkart has expressed a desire to democratise commerce and disrupt the social commerce landscape with Shopsy.
