India set to achieve 450 GW renewable energy installed capacity by 2030: MNRE


According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), India is on track to install 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030.

RK Singh, Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy, discussed the opportunities for green hydrogen in India, saying, “MNRE will work out with bids for electrolysers and that mandates for green hydrogen consumption in refining, fertilizer, and pipeline natural gas.

In addition, Singh stated that SECI’s growth has been promising and is expected to continue since new and emerging areas in the clean energy space are set for a boom and described his vision for SECI to become an energy conglomerate for the new world.

SECI will continue to work towards meeting the ambitious goal of 450 GW by 2030. India is embarking on an exciting journey and is treading where no one has gone before, the minister said.

India’s Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy, Chemicals, and Fertilizers, Bhagwanth Khuba, says the global energy sector is set to undergo a dramatic transformation, and renewable energy is the way forward.
