IBM in talks with states to expand ‘SkillBuild’ initiative in India


According to IBM, several states in India are in talks to expand its ‘SkillsBuild’ initiative. By 2030, the company plans to provide new skills to 30 million people of all ages.

In a statement, IBM chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna stated that the company will provide a new generation of workers with skills to fill the skills gap and build a brighter future.

IBM announced a road map with more than 170 new academic and industry partnerships to achieve the goal.

According to IBM India and South Asia director of corporate social responsibility Manoj Balachandran, IBM has partnered with several state governments to enhance skills in the country – Goa, Sikkim, AP, Telangana, and now Haryana.
