BP ventures invest about 97 crores in BluSmart

BP has made its first direct investment in India by investing $13 million (about Rs 97 crore) in integrated EV ride-hailing and charging company BluSmart. With support from Mayfield India Fund, 9Unicorns, Survam Partners, and others, BP Ventures led a $25 million Series A round.
Bp Ventures’ Sophia Nadur has been appointed to BluSmart’s board of directors. Over the last few years, bp Ventures has invested almost $800 million across more than 60 companies.
In the next two years, BluSmart plans to expand its electric vehicle (EV) fleet and charging stations from Delhi to five other Indian cities. BP plans to enable its customers to reduce their emissions worldwide through the complementary energy and mobility solutions provided by the investment, according to a statement.
