Actis LLP hits final close on fifth energy fund, exceeds $4B target
Private equity firm Actis LLP recently closed its fifth energy fund at $4.7 billion, thus exceeding their $4 billion target. As per the firm, alongside the co-investments, the fund will have around $6 billion worth of investable capital. It will earmark $850 million for India to be invested over the next half decade.
Sanjiv Agarwal, Partner at Actis and Head of Energy for Asia, commented, “We are committed to the Indian renewable sector and will continue to be a leading investor in Indian green energy.”
The firm previously invested in Ostro Energy and Sprng Energy to build 3 GW of solar and wind capacity.
