Ed-tech Unicorn upGrad acquires Mumbai based Work Better


In furtherance of their mission to utilize non-linear growth opportunities for growth, the edtech unicron upGrad has recently acquired the Mumbai based enterprise training company Work Better for an undisclosed amount. Furthermore, upGrad has boarded the entire team of Work Better for its platform including the Chief Executive Officer, Swapnil Kamat.

The company co-founder made a statement exclaiming that this acquisition would allow upGrad to fuel its aspiration of becoming one of the leading integrated life-long-learning tech companies in the world. The B2B arm of the unicorn upGrad for Business has executed this deal.

Work Better

Expressing her views on the recent acquisition of brand names, the President of upGrad for Business, Minaxi Indra stated, “The rise of a multitude of multifunctional roles which necessitate the requirement of new-age subject knowledge is constantly pushing medium and large-sized organisations to re-think their L&D strategies not just for skilling their talent pool but also for retaining them. Hence, with the two majors coming together, we look forward to empowering organisations with market-ready and future-ready skills in order to train their workforce with the best of technical leadership and managerial varieties.”

Work Better is a Mumbai based 14-year old startup which has expertise in soft skills training, sales training and leadership training via both the classroom as well as virtual learning solutions. Currently it has a client base of 300 corporates and more than 250 trainers to offer its training solutions to.
