Hangry, Indonesia’s largest multi-brand cloud kitchen operator, has successfully raised $10.5 million in a Series A5 funding round led by long-time investor Alpha JWC Ventures. Founded in 2019, Hangry has quickly scaled its operations with over 118 outlets and 18 brands across Indonesia, establishing itself as a dominant player in the virtual restaurant and food delivery space.

The fresh capital will be channeled towards enhancing Hangry’s kitchen infrastructure, upgrading equipment, and boosting production efficiency to handle increased order volumes while maintaining consistent food quality. This operational strengthening aims to support Hangry’s rapid domestic growth and its planned international expansion starting with Malaysia as its first overseas market.

Hangry’s unique multi-brand kitchen model allows it to produce multiple cuisine brands within a single outlet, effectively running a multi-brand assembly line that yields over 1,000 portions daily per kitchen. This model delivers operational efficiencies and cost savings, helping the firm offer affordable, high-quality food that resonates strongly with Indonesian consumers, especially millennials and Gen Z.

Chicken-based offerings dominate Hangry’s portfolio, representing over 20% of Indonesia’s food delivery market, with flagship brands like Moon Chicken, Ayam Mak Dura, and Ayam Koplo driving the company’s growth. The firm’s only non-chicken brand, Dari Pada, caters to beverage consumers with specialty coffee and drinks.
